Investigation of the impact of injection timing and pressure on emissions characteristics and smoke/soot emissions in diesel engine fuelling with soybean fuel

Engine injection strategy and renewable fuel both can improve nitrogen oxides (NOX) smoke/soot emissions in a common-rail compression ignition (CI) diesel engine. The effects of different postinjection (PI) timings (15, 30, 45) after top dead center (aTDC) pressures (550 650 bar) on pollutant were investigated for combustion (soybean biodiesel). results showed that the levels carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HCs), NOX are reduced from soybean biodiesel compared to strategy. Besides, emission is clearly with retarded PI timing, especially at 45°. It found increasing pressure gaseous fuels. combination between provide meaningful improvements emissions, as well enhance exhaust temperature fuel. With fueling, (by 19.7%) under rather than 12.2%).
